Report from Bermuda

Toured Dockyards and Old British Navy Fort and Prison. Tour of local area near sea port and history.
Noted:

For Global Cooling Project: Houses here are built from quarried Limestone including the roof of the building. All roofs are painted White every 2 years. Water is in short supply especially in the last century. All houses have a cistern under or beside house and water is collected from the rain and special gutters which drain in to cistern. A cistern is a round often open topped tank build of brick or stone.

White roofs and cisterns a technology from more than 2 centuries ago are still viable options to help with global warming and water shortages.

Golf with friends and business contacts from UK and Europe at Turtle Hill Fairmount Golf Course. Technology and Security discussed along with #solaroneballoon and #solaronedroneballoon. Solar Power and #solaronedatacenter which requires no building and can withstand a hurricane and power outages.

Discussed Drone Defense course for civilians including beam guns and plasma antennas. Uplink technology and communications upgrades also discussed.

Also discussed new 800 Watt per solar panel technology that is now for sale around the world as well as hybrid Solar / Electric air conditioning units.

I am aboard the NCL Gem and we are in Bermuda for 2 more days then on to Maine and finally back to Boston.

A vacation that is both business and pleasure is a good thing - especially if one does not plan too much.

I am having a great time and the food, entertainment, pools, and people on the ship are all very nice.

More soon...

The Computer Dudes, Inc,  Tallahassee, Florida: 6-3-2024

Following the Broadcomm take over of VMware several of our clients asked for options on replacement and security.

We divided up our research among Computer Dudes in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Maine and Texas. We then sent equipment and instructions to several prospective groups seeking to be Computer Dudes in UK, Germany and Australia.

Here are our current solutions:

Beowulf Clustering

Beowulf Clustering - which is faster and more secure than the cloud, especially if you do the clustering by Server Rack using a backplane or software that thinks it is a backplane

QEMU

QEMU is an Open Source VM Emmulator - it is a big project supported by many around the globe and gets good reviews from users at different levels. Here are the Specs:

Developer: Fabrice Bellard License: GPL-2.0-only Operating system: Linux, Microsoft Windows, macOS and some other UNIX platforms
Repository: gitlab.com/qemu-project/qemu Stable release: 9.0.0 / 23 April 2024 Programming Language: C

CITRIX

Citrix Hypervisor is now ZenServer-8. They have a VMware ESXi migration tool to convert and activated any ESXi Virtual Machines, Servers or Appliances. One free download without registering. Free to try - about 20 bucks per user, per year, per user license.
You will also need the Load Balancer and some of the tools for advanced configuration and speed.

Why do Computer Dudes share our research?   We consider anyone with the skill to work with VMware, Citrix, QEMU, and GetHub to be "Computer Dudes."
"Dudes" is not a gender pronoun - it is a DESIGNATION of skill, ethics, and communication with clients.

Good Luck with your summer research - implementation begins in the Fall - Additional Updates will be posted in the comments below this article

Panama City, Florida: 5-13-2024

With so many Wars going on it is sometimes difficult to remember that Drones and Bots have many positive uses. They are also fun to play with and are for people of all ages.

Several Days ago a severe storm with tornados hit Tallahassee, Florida. Much of the Area was without power or water for a day or more. After helping with the cleanup and the power returned I headed over to Panama City, Florida to check on our properties there.

You can find more information on how bad the storm was online or on my LinkedIn profile: Todd W. Byars, Tallahassee, Florida - Computer Dudes. Do not worry as most everyone has had their power back since Sunday.

Moorebot Scout E for Home and Office Security

Back in January of this year Computer Dudes picked up a Moorebot Scout E to modify for building and factory inspections. We added a Temperature Sensor, A Laser Pointer at a fixed height (for reference and measurements) and a manual retrieval option. Basically it can roll under factory machines, vehicles or into hard to reach areas in buildings or at home.

The project was a success and so we kept a couple of the prototypes - reverting them back to their original form.

Now any of the Computer Dudes can access the Moorebot Scout from their phones - roll it over to the parts storage area and "see" what is physically in inverntory. It saves them a trip to the shop if the parts they need are not there.

A Moorebot was also setup in my home. I programmed it to run a "patrol" around the house and to recognize cats, dogs, and humans. This morning I use it to check on the house, the cats and the weather in Tallahassee.

Other Positive Drone Uses and Training:
Computer Dudes are working on Drone Training and Programming.
Computer Dudes offers a Drone Defense course and hands on training. Here: https://www.thecomputerdudesinc.com/news.php?extend.23
Computer Dudes does Android Team Awareness Kit, ATAK, Training with Drones for Land Management and Fire Season here in North Florida.
Computer Dudes are working on Cargo Drones for individuals and companies.
Computer Dudes are researching Cargo Drones to guide large balloons for shade or cooling areas, or on a larger scale to fight global warming.
Computer Dudes do flight training and Drone Games like racing or tag for fun and competition. Human Pilots only no assists from autopilot!

So maybe take a new look at Drones and their many positive uses - then select a Drone for you or your company to try. Remember to check the laws and regulations on Drones and Drone Operations in your Nation, State and City before you select a drone and begin playing or training. Stay safe and Have Fun!

Yesterday on Social Media - LinkedIn - The Computer Dudes, Inc announced several new methods and technology to reduce heat in cities near the equator
or in any "hot zones" where the heat is killing people.

#solaroneballoon - A large, round, flat balloon that can be tethered to provide shade to an area.      Proof of Concept and the First Mylar Prototype Balloon have been ordered and will be in early next week.

#solaronedroneballoon - A drone guided Solar One Balloon.   The Drone can also be used to fly patterns or for "station keeping."

Computer Dudes around the world are working on this and other important issues for people, communities, States and Nations - around the clock.

You may want to follow Todd W. Byars and the two hashtags listed above on LinkedIn to get the fastest project updates.

Global Operations and Space

The Computer Dudes - Global Operations - initiates and Library for Humans to carry to Space.

The library will include all topics as well as Literature, Art, Music, Science, Math, Biology, Medical and especially books, charts, maps, art and history of Mankind in Space.
The final version will fit on a compressed USB, ZIP, or SSHD for use by individuals and groups out of range of Library and other Information Servers.

Computer Dudes from the Western United States and Central Europe will be joining the effort as will some Pacific Rim Nations including New Zealand and Australia.

Library Server build in progress!    Linux Clustering.   Air Gapped.   That server will then send to a Hosting Server once the Library is ready to go online.
For SPACE the Library or partial Library will be compressed onto memory chips, drives,  PDA's, Phones, and spacecraft computers.

Once portable - in compressed chip format.     We will also have a portable server option and or 3D computer core option - with solar as primary or backup power.
